Polyolefin is commonly associated with the packaging of consumables and produce.
This is because it is FDA approved as a material that can safely make contact with food without contaminating it in the same way that PVC would.
In comparison to PVC, it also offers better seals for airtight packaging and produces less residue caused by the run-off of high speed wrapping machines.
